LUNOVU exhibits at FORMNEXT 2021
One of the most important trade fairs in the field of additive manufacturing, FORMNEXT, will take place in Frankfurt from November 16 to 19, 2021. After it could only be carried out in a virtual format in the previous year due to the pandemic, it will now be performed as a face-to-face event. LUNOVU will be there, presenting brand new products and technologies in hall 12.0 / booth E92. The LUNOVU team is looking forward to interesting discussions about LMD / DED applications!
LUNOVU has received ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification
LUNOVU has reached another important milestone on its growth path. The implementation of a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 and an occupational health and safety management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 45001 have been completed with the corresponding certifications. This also formally confirms the high quality and occupational safety standards that LUNOVU had imposed upon itself since its foundation.
LIPA-virtual trade fair and conference by LASER.region.AACHEN
On Friday, June 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., the LIPA virtual laser trade fair will take place for the first time. In compact specialist lectures interesting information about laser technology and its possible applications will be provided. A virtual exhibition center can also be visited. The event is primarily aimed at companies looking for laser technology solutions for their individual applications.
The LASER.region.AACHEN is a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The alliance provides a network of leading universities and research institutions with companies in the field of laser technology and suppliers.
LUNOVU expands application center
LUNOVU is currently expanding its LMD/DED application center. Construction work has already begun, driven by fast growing business and new application areas. The aim is to focus even better on different applications such as additive manufacturing, laser cladding or wear protection. Additional LMD/DED machine systems (CNC and robot types) will be installed over the next few months to advance machine and process development, develop customer-specific processes, and perform application demonstrations and training for customers. In addition, facilities for metallographic analysis will be set up for rapid quality control of the materials manufactured with LMD/DED.
LUNOVU develops EHLA process
Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in Aachen and other industrial partners, LUNOVU has developed a novel process chain for the efficient coating of large parts such as rollers. The development was carried out within the joint R&D project EVEREST. Using the EHLA (Extremes Hochgeschwindigkeits Laser-Auftragschweissen / Extreme High Speed Laser Cladding) process, parts could be coated in a very resource efficient way, using a speed of up to 200 meters per minute. The processes have been developed at the LUNOVU application center.
LUNOVU wishes you a successful year 2021
For most of us, the past year was certainly different than planned. However, we are pleased that our customers, business partners and ourselves have achieved many of our goals. We would like to thank you for your cooperation in many successful projects. We are happy that the LUNOVU LMD/DED technology has found new areas of application and wish you a successful year 2021!

Foundry Intitute in Aachen Develops Novel Material Systems with LUNOVU LMD
The renowned Foundry Institute at the RWTH Aachen in Germany has put a new LUNOVU LMD system into operation. Sited at its new premises, Research Center for Digital Photonics Production (RCDPP), the Laser Material Deposition (LMD) system is designed to suit the special requirements of the foundry institute. A hermetically sealed inert gas chamber (glove box) is used for contamination free processes. Additionally, it combines powder and wire-based laser cladding processes.
LUNOVU presents latest technology at the MAMC 2020 conference
From September 30 to October 2, 2020, the Metal Additive Manufacturing Conference (MAMC) 2020 will take place in Vienna. Like last year, LUNOVU will take the opportunity to present its latest DED / LMD technology. Additionally, LUNOVU will contribute to the scientific program with a presentation entitled “Digital process chains for 3D laser metal deposition (LMD) on free form parts”.
LUNOVU receives growth financing from S-UBG
S-UBG AG, a leading Aachen-based investment company focused on mid-size enterprises, invests into LUNOVU. With the increase in equity, LUNOVU can take advantage of the growth opportunities resulting from the increasing demand for LMD systems based on the unique LUNOVU technology.
LUNOVU presents LMD technology at the virtual ESAFORM conference
The current corona virus situation limits the sientific and technological exchange. To overcome this restriction, one of the most important conferences in the field of material forming – the ESAFORM 2020 in Cottbus/Germany – will be held in a virtual format from May 4 to 8, 2020. LUNOVU will participate and present its unique automated LMD technology.
Project SimConDrill nominated for Green Award
he research project SimConDrill which is funded by BMBF aims at the development of novel water filters for micro plastic filtration using laser-drilled fine holes. Within this project, LUNOVU develops a special measurement system. Recently, the project has been nominated for one of the Green Awards which will be awarded during the Greentech festival in Berlin in June 2020.
