LUNOVU’s history is closely related to the Fraunhofer Institut for Laser Technology in Aachen, Germany. Being one of the world’s leading reserach institutions in this field, it was the perfect environment to develop a product portfolio which was exactly tailored to the needs of users in industry and R&D. Initially, the founders’ focus was on industrial services for control and automation technology, shifting towards more complex machine components and finally to complete machine solutions at a later stage. After having spent many successful years in various business roles, today’s core team founded LUNOVU in 2013 to start a company with a clear focus on laser machine systems for additive manufacturing and other special applications.
Today LUNOVU combines various competencies which perfectly complement each other. Intelligent control systems for complex laser processes are one of the key features in LUNOVU LMD systems. Therefore, a team of software developers, automation specialists and data scientists works hand in hand to create comprehensive system solutions. Mechanical and electrical design also plays an important role. A special focus is on the laser optical system design, where physicists and engineers make sure that optimum solutions are found for each application. And last but not least, a team of process engineers continuously develops and improves processes and applications.
