About LUNOVU
LUNOVU is driven by a highly enthusiastic team of natural scientists, engineers, technicians and business specialists. What they all have in common is their passion for technology and innovation, combined with a strict customer and application focus. And they share the vision to leverage machine intelligence to create machine systems with highest performance and excellent productivity, with the ultimate target to help our customers to explore novel application areas.
LUNOVU’s history is closely related to the Fraunhofer Institut for Laser Technology in Aachen, Germany. Being one of the world’s leading reserach institutions in this field, it was the perfect environment to develop a product portfolio which was exactly tailored to the needs of users in industry and R&D. Initially, the founders’ focus was on industrial services for control and automation technology, shifting towards more complex machine components and finally to complete machine solutions at a later stage. After having spent many successful years in various business roles, today’s core team founded LUNOVU in 2013 to start a company with a clear focus on laser machine systems for additive manufacturing and other special applications.
Today LUNOVU combines various competencies which perfectly complement each other. Intelligent control systems for complex laser processes are one of the key features in LUNOVU LMD systems. Therefore, a team of software developers, automation specialists and data scientists works hand in hand to create comprehensive system solutions. Mechanical and electrical design also plays an important role. A special focus is on the laser optical system design, where physicists and engineers make sure that optimum solutions are found for each application. And last but not least, a team of process engineers continuously develops and improves processes and applications.
Markets and applications
LUNOVU puts a clear focus on current and future markets and applications. For us it is essential to know and understand them exactly. We are active in many different areas. Automotive, aerospace, tool and mold making, repair or protective coatings are only a few examples. Our vision is that technology is always a vehicle to provide added value to our customers. This is why a deep understanding of applications and processes is a precondition for us to create optimum machine solutions. To achieve this, direct communication with users plays a key role, as well as our participation in conferences and trade fairs or the active participation in joint reserach projects.
This approach is also reflected in the LUNOVU application center. Developments are carried out on specially installed LMD systems. These systems are also used to verify LUNOVU software solutions and to develop application-specific processes, or to run demo processes for customers. User training is another important activity in the application center, providing perfect starting conditions for our customers.
The management
The key to LUNOVU’s success is its team. Flat hierarchies and quick decisions are most important to us. The management team benefits from decades of practical experience in various management positions.
